Hell runner – mission accomplished!

So after posting I wasn’t going to do any crazy runs I can actually tick this one off my list of crazy things to do… I completed the run in just over 2 hours and it was true what they say – it was hell! Whilst running up and down rugged army land and through 3 or 4 bogs and lakes I was thinking why on earth did I do this? Then as I crossed the finish line with my brother I felt I had accomplished something (and it wasn’t just a bruised ankle and stinking clothes). 2000 people decided that hell runner was one of their things to do and I was proud to be a part of it. Don’t get me wrong though I will not be doing it next year….

So what next? What crazy challenge have I set myself up for? Well, I have signed up to do the Fleet half marathon to support my friend Sue who is running the London marathon next year to celebrate her 50th birthday….

For now all I want to do is enjoy my new eyelash extensions (which made it round hell runner) and go to various Christmas parties and enjoy myself! No dieting for a while now x

So the 17 day diet lasted 5 days…

Oh my! Who’s have known that 17 days would last so long! Only my 17 days lasted 5 days which I thought was quote a good effort although now I’m craving bread a butter and anything 100% carb now. Grrrr. Why does it have to be so hard?

Grrr

Has just listened to Michael Buble’s Christmas CD

michael bubleOooooh, you can now tell I’m turning really old – getting into the festive mood early November PLUS liking a male singer who is love by hundreds of thousands of ladies over the age of 50.

So I haven’t ran for 3 months and this has taken its toll on my backside. I really can’t fit into any of my clothes so have decided I’m going to go for it. Pre Christmas diet…. I’m starting it Monday!! I’ve hear about various ones – the ABC diet which is loved by pro anna sites allows you minimal calories but enough to stop your body going into starvation mode…. Hmmm. Or the more sensible approach is a high protein dirt called the 17 day diet which I think I might try. Plus this way I get to eat lots of meat which isn’t very good for the world but if it means I take up less space on this chair then I’m a happy girl.

Avoiding all mince pies is going to be hard…

November was going to be ‘the cut off point’ but I’m happy to report there have been changes in our household for the better – Jacob is 3, Hamish the cat  is 9, and someone has been trying harder which is about time! The only annoying thing is this cold I can’t shift. A head full of bricks and achey lower back, difficulty breathing and mushroom like taste in my mouth – mmm pleasant!

How is the rest of the world?

Running… To run or not to run THAT is the question

Running… I have a confession: I don’t want to run.

Running organised events such as ‘Hellrunner’ is a pretty common item on peoples’ list of things to do. It was on mine, too. Until today, when I realized: I don’t have the slightest desire to actually run in Hellrunner or Grim or any such events.

This prompted me to take a closer look at other items on my to do list. I’d made a common mistake: I filled my list with items generally accepted as excellent goals, things that lots of people include on their lists, experiences that are on the list not because I long for the experience, but because other people deem it a worthwhile goal or put it on their own lists.

So sorry for those people wanting to see me running in snow and through icy cold lakes but you’ll have to wait. And it might be a long time.

And for those that are interested – I decided that a new career wasn’t for me – I needed to focus on the job I currently have and try and make the company I am working for a better place to work. The only slight problem is changing the people I work with – I can understand how some people lose it and go out into the world with a shot gun shooting off random people.

And…

Watch this space….

Have found new hope

So of late my rantings have been about varicose veins and losing weight as well as wanting to cut things of my life that depress me. (This prompted a few emails from worried friends thinking I was about to top myself). Continue reading →

“Do you know where I can find girls for sex?”

Whilst casually walking down into town for a paddle and play in the local stream/park an Indian man (with limited English) asked me where he could find ladies for sex.

Errr….

Has realised I have been taking life too seriously…

I mean… Come on – there’s more to life than struggling to lose weight and getting into those skinny jeans you had since you were 16.

Life is short, it’s a fact. You HAVE to enjoy what it is you’re doing because there’s no rewind button – life is constantly playing, sometimes slow, sometimes fast but the sand is falling into the bottom half of everyone’s timer.

I’m not happy and everyone knows it, and it’s down to me, nobody else to change my life – I just need to get weaving and do it for my life to become better and Jacob’s life to improve ten fold.

Embrace the things and people who make you happy – ditch the ones that make you sad/angry/unhappy. Watch this space.

Back on track

So following having my right leg stripped of veins and 6 weeks out of action (any excuse to sit of my arse and eat) I am now back on track! BUT I’m back on track with an extra stone to lose. I am LARDY! Continue reading →

It’s all going wrong….

So my plan was to have a couple of days rest after the operation and then I’d be back on my feet and running again to look fabulous for when our summer decides to get here…. Continue reading →
